PXL University of Applied Sciences and Arts (PXL) is a dynamic and vibrant organisation, a centre of expertise for innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship in Flanders (Belgium). It is a professional Higher Education Institute with campuses in and around Hasselt, located in the heart of Europe, close to Brussels. PXL University professionalises people and organisations and contributes to welfare and well-being. About
PXL University offers 35 degree programmes: 17 associate degree programmes (EQF 5), 19 professional bachelor programmes (EQF 6) in Business, Education, Healthcare, IT, Media & Tourism, Music, Social Work and Technology, and an academic bachelor and master programmes (EQF 7) in Arts, hosting more than 10,000 students and 1,100 staff members.
PXL University enhances research in above mentioned disciplines with a total of 293 researchers, 216 projects and 133 service projects resulting in close collaboration with 401 private companies (SME’s) and social profit organisations. Currently, PXL collaborates internationally with more than 40 partners.
In October 2022 PXL University received the ‘SDG Pioneer’ certificate from UNITAR, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research, the United Nations (UN) training organisation in Geneva. PXL is the first higher education institution in Belgium to be recognised for the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. The college has obtained a quality label for this purpose. Specifically, it means that the SDG’s are implemented in the study programmes of the students and the campuses are working towards sustainability. In 2023 PXL University received for the second time an excellent accreditation review report, issued by the Accreditation Organisation of The Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO).
