Satakunta University of Applied Sciences

Satakunta University of Applied Sciences is a multi-disciplinary and an international higher education institute of over 6700 students and over 500 employees. In our operating area on the west coast of Finland, we are a significant creator of experts as well as a developer, a propeller of internationalization and a promoter of entrepreneurship. In our strategy, we are profiled as an industrial higher education institution.

SAMK has four campuses around the region of Satakunta and strong regional cooperation with companies and industry in the region. We may therefore involve business partners and other external partners to our cooperation initiatives, when needed. SAMK has four faculties: Faculty of Technology, Faculty of Service Business, Faculty of Health and Welfare, and Faculty of Logistics and Maritime Technology. SAMK offers 47 degree programmes, of which 8 fully in English.

Our focus areas are Automation, robotics, and artificial intelligence, Human participation and functioning, and Tourism and experience economy. The cross-cutting strengths are Entrepreneurship and start-ups, Digital campus, and Online teaching. Our emerging areas are Intelligent maritime management and logistics, Resource wisdom, and Welfare technology and health technology.

SAMK has the responsibility to produce customizable competence to meet the modern and versatile needs of working life in the region of Satakunta and the neighboring areas, and in the chosen fields all over Finland.
