During the last week of May 2024, SAMK received the visit of two Vice-Rectors from the Romanian partner university G.E. Palade UMPhST Targu Mures, Prof. Mihaela Kardos PhD and Assoc. Prof. Daniela Stefanescu PhD, with the aim of developing strenghtened cooperation opportunities. The contact person in SAMK was
International Relations Coordinator Noora Maja.
The visit included useful discussions with the Deans and the Vice Rector for Education, as well as general presentations of both institutions. We also exchanged knowledge in the field of internationalisation and planned future cooperation in the DIVERSE alliance. The two guests learned more about SAMK, including
for example entrepreneurship studies, accessibility issues and the SOTEEKKI center service model. There was still something left to learn on the next visit; the activities of the research centers and contacts with teachers in the various disciplines should be further developed in the future.
We decided to continue the cooperation observing mobility possibilities in multiple study fields, such as in Business, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Tourism, including organizing BIPs together and also promoting the semester-long exchanges for students. Staff mobilities can also take place between our institutions. It was
also discussed that both institutions would like to learn more about COILs (collaborative online international learning) and hopefully a chance to do this will come up soon in the DIVERSE alliance! This all
will lead into stronger and sustainable cooperation and even to double degrees in the future.
These Erasmus+ staff mobilities are a great opportunity to get to know the partner university and their staff members, study fields and so much more! SAMK and UMFST highly encourage their staff members to use the opportunity. You surely return with nice memories and inspiration for the future!
