The DIVERSE Alliance took an active part in the 2nd International Erasmus+ Week (E+ISW) organised by the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO), held from 5 to 9 May in Santander, Spain. This international event brought together representatives from more than a dozen higher education institutions from nine European countries, with the aim of strengthening academic cooperation, promoting international mobility and fostering intercultural dialogue.
DIVERSE’s participation was particularly noteworthy, with the presence of four member universities:
- GE Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science and Technology (Romania)
- SMK University of Applied Social Sciences (Lithuania)
- Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa (Portugal)
- Windesheim University of Applied Sciences (The Netherlands)
Throughout the week, representatives from these institutions took part in a wide variety of academic and cultural activities, including presentations of international projects, research workshops, discussions on internationalisation, Spanish language classes, networking sessions, and local cultural experiences.
One of the highlights was the participation in the DIGITAL TA project conference, where the results of three years of collaborative work were shared. Other highlights included the interactive research workshop with students on physical activity and participation in the ‘Meals of the World’ solidarity initiative, which raised funds for local social causes while celebrating international culinary diversity.
The International Week organised by UNEATLANTICO reflected the key values of the DIVERSE Alliance: institutional cooperation, inclusion, social responsibility and academic excellence.
The experience allowed to strengthen the links between the members of the alliance and to explore new opportunities for joint projects in the framework of the Erasmus + programme.
With this participation, the DIVERSE Alliance reaffirms its commitment to a more integrated, dynamic and supportive European higher education.
