DIVERSE is proud to participate in the European Digital Education Hub (EDEH), an initiative of the European Commission, funded by the Erasmus+ programme (2021–2027) and developed by a consortium of 13 organisations.
DIVERSE’s work falls within the Higher Education Interoperability Framework (HEIF), which aims to facilitate barrier-free digital teaching and learning across Europe, as set out in the European Commission’s Digital Education Action Plan.
Through this initiative, standards are being defined that will enable:
- The secure and efficient transfer of academic records, credentials and qualifications.
- The improvement of the experience for students and academic staff through clear processes and fewer repetitive tasks.
- The strengthening of cooperation between universities through the exchange of data, tools and knowledge.
Focus areas
In the first phase, the project focused on two key use cases:
- Discovery and application – simplifying the process for students applying to joint or exchange programmes.
- Recognition – making qualifications more easily recognised across institutions.
The selected use case is micro-credentials, which offer greater flexibility compared to other study programmes. The knowledge gained from this case can be applied to other degree programmes in the future.
DIVERSE’s goal is to ensure that interoperability is no longer just an aspiration, but becomes an everyday practice that drives learning opportunities across Europe.
