DIVERSE launches new European project to boost circularity and resilience in supply chains

The European university alliance DIVERSE has officially announced the launch of a new European project focused on promoting circularity and resilience in supply chains, with a particular emphasis on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within European industrial ecosystems.

The initiative aims to accelerate the adoption of circular economy practices, drive digitalisation, and foster sustainable innovation among European SMEs, which are considered key players in the transition towards more responsible and efficient production models.

The project is the result of close collaboration between partner institutions from different European countries, including: Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK), Hogeschool PXL, University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science and Technology “G.E. Palade” of Târgu Mureș, and Technische Hochschule Nürnberg Georg Simon Ohm.

Its development followed the “European Network for Supply Chain Circularity” event, held in June 2024 and organised by Windesheim. During this event, alliance partners collaborated to identify common needs, define initial steps, and explore opportunities for cooperation to strengthen the sustainability of supply chains.

The kick-off meeting of the project took place in Brussels from 12 to 14 March 2025, officially marking the start of planned activities for the coming months.

With this new project, the DIVERSE alliance reaffirms its commitment to fostering European collaboration and advancing towards more circular, sustainable, and resilient supply chains, contributing to the European Union’s green and digital transition objectives.
