HER TECH

HER TECH is a transnational project co-funded by Erasmus+, bringing together partners from seven European countries: Croatia, Finland, Sweden, Belgium, Italy, Ireland, and Germany. Its mission is to promote gender equality in the ICT sector by removing barriers that limit the participation of girls and women in STEM and digital careers.

Our Objectives

Challenge stereotypes that discourage girls and young women from pursuing ICT and STEM education.

Support educators and schools with inclusive teaching strategies and gender-sensitive materials.

Empower girls and women through role models, campaigns, and tools that boost confidence and interest in digital careers.

How it works

The project combines research, pilots, and awareness campaigns to create inclusive, transferable, and sustainable solutions across Europe. Key activities include:

  • Capacity-building for educators and youth
  • Development of inclusive pedagogical practices
  • Dissemination of evidence-based tools and resources
  • Research on gender dynamics in STEM and ICT education

Target groups include female students, teachers, educational institutions, policy makers, and research organisations, as well as parents, the general public, and media.

Impact and ambition

HER TECH aims to create lasting change at multiple levels:

  • Individual: girls and young women gain access to inclusive learning, visible role models, and confidence to pursue ICT and STEM careers.
  • Institutional: schools and universities acquire tools and methods to challenge stereotypes and provide gender-sensitive guidance.
  • Policy: insights and recommendations aim to influence regional, national, and EU-level strategies for gender equality and digital inclusion.

By co-creating with stakeholders and embedding gender equality in education, HER TECH helps build a more diverse, inclusive and resilient digital Europe.
