DIVERSE’s Executive Board and Presidents of its member universities meet in Dublin

Members of DIVERSE’s Executive Board, Presidents of the partner universities and their representatives met at Griffith College in Dublin to discuss the alliance’s ongoing work and the next steps in their collaboration.

Presidents expressed their willingness to maintain and even increase the resources that universities allocate to the alliance’s activities and projects. This reflects the value its members see in the alliance and the benefits of cooperation between institutions.

The meeting also addressed the development of joint study programmes across the participating universities. The next step is to review the programmes proposed during the meeting and determine which ones will be taken forward. This initiative will expand the range of shared academic offerings and create new opportunities for students.

The discussions also provided an opportunity to advance the work of the research and mobility working groups, which addressed issues related to their respective areas and explored new ways to strengthen collaboration between DIVERSE universities. In addition, an event was held for the GT4T project as it enters its final stage. It brought together participants to reflect on the project’s achievements, explore how its results could be further developed and scaled up, and identify new opportunities for future development.

The programme also included cultural and social activities, such as an opera concert featuring representatives of the Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition, supported by the National Youth Orchestra, held at Griffith College, as well as a dinner. These events complemented the meetings and offered participants the opportunity to experience some of Dublin’s cultural and social life during their stay.

One of the most important messages to emerge from the gathering was that the biggest asset is trust. Built over years of collaboration, shared experiences and face-to-face meetings, this trust has become the foundation of DIVERSE, bringing universities closer together and giving them the confidence to dream bigger and achieve more together than they could alone. It is this shared belief in the value of working together that will continue to drive the alliance forward, turning strong relationships into new opportunities and shared ambitions into meaningful results.

The Dublin meeting therefore provided an opportunity for the universities to share their priorities and continue working towards the future of DIVERSE, exploring new projects and forms of collaboration between their institutions.
