In today’s interconnected world, geopolitics has become a decisive factor in international business, shaping corporate strategy, operations, and decision-making. Recognising this, the DIVERSE European University Alliance is developing an innovative Joint Master’s Programme in International Business & Geopolitics to address the growing need for professionals able to navigate an increasingly complex global environment. The quality and originality of the proposal led the European Commission to approve and fund its design phase, during which the DIVERSE Alliance and its international partners will finalise all scientific, administrative, and organisational elements — from curriculum design and academic staffing to mobility pathways and the programme’s governance model. The programme will integrate expertise in geopolitical dynamics, megatrends, strategic intelligence, and international business. It will equip students to anticipate risks and opportunities, analyse global developments, and support strategic decision-making. By placing geopolitics at the centre of international business education, this joint master’s programme will fill a clear gap in the current academic landscape and responds to strong labour-market demand for graduates skilled in both international business and geopolitics. Students will develop advanced analytical competencies, the ability to assess geopolitical influences on business decisions, and the capacity to build strategic resilience in a rapidly changing world. These skills will significantly enhance employability in government, industry, consulting, international organisations, and research.
