Beykent University, a DIVERSE member university, held a meeting with representatives of TÜBİTAK Marmara Teknokent (MARTEK) to explore new opportunities for collaboration in the areas of sustainability, innovation and entrepreneurship. The meeting was held in line with the objectives of GT4T (Greentech4Transformation), an initiative in which the alliance is involved.

The meeting was attended by Beykent University Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Yalçın KIRDAR; Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture Prof. Dr. Bahaddin Sinsoysal; Director of the Vocational School Prof. Adj. Prof. Nazife ORHAN ŞİMŞEK; and Director of the Technology Transfer Office Dr. Metin Güven.

The discussions focused on several key areas, including the development of skills for academic staff, training students in sustainability and innovation, and strengthening entrepreneurship support mechanisms. These efforts aim to help transform ideas and projects developed within the university environment into solutions with real-world impact.

The partnership between Beykent University and MARTEK highlights the importance of connecting universities, innovation centres and the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Furthermore, this collaboration is in keeping with the values that characterise DIVERSE and aligns with GT4T’s objectives of promoting skills and opportunities linked to sustainability.
