PXL University for Applied Sciences and Arts
Since 2011, Bruno is engaged in Flemish and European Higher Education, representing the unique innovation and research capacity of the universities of applied sciences. In 2021 he started as EU Research Affairs Manager at PXL University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Belgium, responsible for promoting EU policies and funding in order to support researchers and policy officers on their way to major European projects.
Previously, he was secretary-general of the first European umbrella organisation of universities of applied sciences focusing exclusively on research, called UASnet, consisting of the representatives of the official national associations of universities of applied sciences of 8 EU Member States (Finland, Denmark, Lithuania, Estonia, Ireland, the Netherlands, Portugal and Belgium). He also chaired the management committee of its successor, UAS4EUROPE.
He was also policy advisor to the Council of Flemish Universities of Applied Sciences and Arts for 8 years. Prior to that, he was a 7 years personal counselor to different Members of the Belgian Parliament and a minister. He has a master in History (specialty Antiquity) and in International Politics and is certified to teach. In his private life, he is a passionate history and travel guide with a love for music, nature and dance.
