DIVERSE celebrates the launch of the Venture Science Center at SAMK’s Pori Campus

DIVERSE is proud to celebrate the inauguration of the Venture Science Center (VSC) at the Pori campus of Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK), a space designed to bring together talent, innovation, and entrepreneurial thinking within an inclusive and collaborative environment.

The VSC serves as a hub where ideas can be prototyped and tested, turning concepts into real-world solutions. It combines practical training, startup culture, and collaborative work on real challenges, reflecting the DIVERSE spirit of learning by doing, exploring without limits, and creating tangible impact.

SAMK Can Venture Competition

A key initiative at the VSC is the SAMK Can Venture Competition, in which students will design, build, and launch a can-sized satellite capable of reaching heights between 20 and 300 metres while recording temperature and pressure data. The final launch is scheduled for spring 2026, with a Grand Jury selecting the winning team.

The opening event, held on 1 December from 15:00 to 17:00 in Room A101 at Campus Pori, also marked the launch of the Prototype Club, VSC’s first club. Open to all students, the club provides access to A101 and the Mech Lab spaces for independent work from December through spring, along with short training sessions to support members’ projects.

This milestone demonstrates DIVERSE’s commitment to fostering transformative experiences within its academic community, supporting innovation, entrepreneurship, and hands-on learning across its member universities.
