DIVERSE advances interoperability in higher education through the European Digital Education Hub

At DIVERSE, we continue to make progress in the work carried out within the framework of the European Digital Education Hub (EDEH), an initiative of the European Commission that promotes collaboration and innovation in digital education across Europe. Through our participation in this initiative, we contribute to the shared objective of making interoperability a common and practical element that enhances learning opportunities in the European Higher Education Area.

Over the past months, our work has focused on the Higher Education Interoperability Framework (HEIF), where we have developed a mock-up for a shared catalogue of academic programmes. This initial proposal is designed to be applied first to micro-credentials, taking advantage of their flexibility and modular nature, with the long-term objective of scaling the system to cover any type of study programme.

The development of this shared catalogue represents an important step towards enabling institutions to exchange academic information more efficiently. The initiative seeks to facilitate the secure transfer of academic records, credentials and qualifications, support seamless experiences for students participating in joint programmes and mobility schemes, and encourage the sharing of data, tools and knowledge between institutions.

Through this project, we aim to transfer academic records, credentials and qualifications securely and efficiently, deliver smooth experiences for students across joint programmes and mobility schemes, and share data, tools and knowledge between institutions to strengthen collaboration within the alliance.
