Algebra Bernays University organised several Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) during the spring edition of the BIPs, bringing together participants from across the DIVERSE European University Alliance and partner institutions in an international learning environment focused on collaboration, innovation and practical experience.
Around 110 students and lecturers from 12 European higher education institutions took part in the programme cycle, working together in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
The BIPs covered a wide range of topics and formats. Creating a Project for a Client brought together participants from Technische Hochschule Rosenheim (THRO) and Universidad Europea del Atlántico (UNEATLANTICO). This programme was developed entirely in collaboration with DIVERSE partners and is intended to continue as a rotating BIP, with ABU acting as the first host institution.
Secure Thinking, Algorithms, Networks and the Mind Behind the Machine involved participants from UNEATLANTICO and THRO, together with ALTE University as an additional non-DIVERSE partner.
Creativity in Communication and Presentation Skills gathered participants from Hogeschool PXL (PXL) and UNEATLANTICO, alongside King Danylo University as an external partner.
Basics of 3D Animation for Computer Games included participants from Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK), together with Universidad Europea de Madrid as an additional partner institution.
Finally, Mastering the Art of Public Speaking – Stand Out in Front of and Behind the TV Camera brought together participants from PXL, THRO, UNEATLANTICO and SAMK, as well as NEWTON University as a non-DIVERSE partner.
Across all programmes, students and staff worked in international teams on subjects ranging from digital competences and creativity to communication, public speaking and emerging technologies. Participants highlighted the value of working in diverse groups, sharing perspectives, and developing both academic and transversal skills in real-world contexts.
As highlighted by Tim Kliukoit, participant in the programme Creativity in Communication and Presentation Skills, one of the most valuable aspects of the experience was seeing students gradually build trust, communication, and teamwork by stepping outside their comfort zones. He also emphasised that experiences like these are equally enriching for lecturers, as they highlight the importance of adaptability, patience, and understanding group dynamics in international education.
These activities further strengthen cooperation within the DIVERSE Alliance and reinforce its commitment to fostering innovative, practice-oriented and internationally connected learning experiences across Europe.
