Explore the Ethical Challenges of Artificial Intelligence in the BIP “AI & Natural Stupidity – How Not to Use AI”

Artificial Intelligence is transforming the way we learn, work and make decisions. From education and healthcare to business and everyday life, AI tools are increasingly shaping how we access information and solve problems. Yet, as these technologies become more powerful, an important question remains: are we using them wisely?

To address this challenge, Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK) is organising the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) “AI & Natural Stupidity – How Not to Use AI”, an international learning experience that encourages students to look beyond technical skills and engage with the ethical, social and human dimensions of AI.

The programme is open to Bachelor’s students from all academic disciplines and provides a unique opportunity to explore real-world AI scenarios in an international and collaborative environment.

Learning beyond technology

Rather than focusing solely on how AI works, this programme examines how people interact with AI and how ethical decision-making can help navigate increasingly complex situations.

Through carefully designed case studies and practical activities, participants will learn how to:

  • Identify situations where ethical values and AI-generated recommendations may conflict.
  • Critically evaluate AI outputs and recognise potential bias or weak reasoning.
  • Apply structured moral reasoning to complex real-life dilemmas.
  • Collaborate with international peers to discuss responsible AI practices.
  • Develop guidelines and recommendations for the ethical use of AI.

The programme emphasises that moral judgement develops through real-life contexts and that AI introduces entirely new types of dilemmas. Rather than providing simple answers, it equips students with the skills needed to make thoughtful and responsible decisions in a rapidly changing digital world.
