Windesheim University of Applied Sciences, a member of the DIVERSE alliance, hosted the event “Discover the Future of European University Alliances: From Vision to Action”, bringing together representatives from several partner institutions to reflect on the evolution of this initiative within the European higher education landscape.
The meeting focused on one of the key challenges currently facing European University Alliances: how to move beyond the pioneering and experimental phase towards sustainable and long-term governance models capable of supporting deeper institutional cooperation and integration.
The programme combined a keynote session addressing governance, integration and collaboration models with a series of thematic discussions exploring strategic priorities for the development of alliances. These sessions addressed topics such as the design of roadmaps for strategic consolidation, innovative approaches to mobility, and the development of joint research initiatives supported by shared research infrastructures. Participants also examined opportunities related to joint degrees and micro-credentials, as well as the role of alliances in strengthening regional innovation ecosystems while promoting shared values and ethical principles.
In parallel with the main programme, partners involved in the GT4T (Greentech4Transformation) project held a dedicated meeting to review progress and coordinate future activities in this strategic area.
The event brought together representatives from several institutions within the DIVERSE alliance, including Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK), Technische Hochschule Rosenheim, İstanbul Beykent University, and Griffith College Dublin, reinforcing collaboration and dialogue on the future development of European university alliances.
